The scenario is the same everywhere. The homeowner or business
owner needs some sort of heating or cooling in their home or business.
Like almost everyone else, you look in the phone directory yellow
pages for a heating/cooling contractor to use. You might remember
a billboard, a radio ad or television spot where a Heating Contractor
offers a special deal. Everyone likes a deal, right?
So you contact
a heating/cooling contractor or contractors and they visit your
property. Depending on your luck of selection, the contractor(s)
may or may not measure and make observations of your building.
They may not ask what kind of and how much insulation you have,
which direction the walls face, what size and type windows and
doors you have, and so on, and so on. Will they ask "you",
the person that's paying the bill, if you are interested in zoning,
equipment efficiencies, equipment warranties, extended warranties
or new system accessories or products that increase your comfort
and save you money? Did they explain what zoning is, what connection
materials are being used or how and where they are going to install
your new system or equipment?
Maybe, just
maybe, your contractor does supply you with all the pertinent
information that we have questioned above. Let's talk price then.
Do you trust your contractor enough to just hand him a job worth
thousands of your hard earned dollars? You should always get
more than one estimate, regardless of your relationship with
a contractor. So, you believe us, and you do get three estimates.
The three estimates vary 50% from the lowest to the highest.
Now what? You can read their estimates and see what equipment
they're using. What size is it? Is it a reputable brand? Is it
big enough? Is it too big? What materials are they using? You're
just not sure, are you?
Imagine, you the property owner with little or no mechanical knowledge
(its OK not to know for now) understanding your soon to be new heating/
cooling system! You can now control the heating/cooling design , layout
and estimation process. "air comfort
designs" can give you that edge!
Let us supply you with the proper information for your property and
give you the advantage, by being educated, so you can control the
estimation process. |
